Family Portraits

Portraits are our speciality at The Lane Studio. From the whole family to newborn photography to portraits of your favourite pets - we’re passionate about capturing faces! We offer portraits in a range of styles - from a contemporary light-filled look with a fresh white backdrop, to more dramatic lighting with a moodier feel, to shoots with an artistic flair using softer lighting against delicate, hand-painted backdrops - we work with you to find your perfect shoot. Our sessions are fun and relaxed, taking the time to make sure we’ve captured plenty of great photos of you and your loved ones to enjoy for a lifetime.

How much does a studio portrait session cost?

Our session fee is €55 and is taken at the time of booking. Payment can be made via credit card or bank transfer.

What happens after I make a booking?

Once you’ve decided on a date and finalised your booking, we’ll contact you via email to confirm. We then set up a phone call to go over the details, answer any questions, and plan the perfect shoot for you.

What should I wear?

In short - what you feel great in! We’ll go over these details on the consultation call after you’ve made your booking.

What do you sell?

Lane Studios offers the highest quality prints and bespoke framing options for you and your family. We have a range of framing options to choose from and each frame is made to order to ensure you find the perfect fit for your space.

What happens after the photo session?

First, your photos will be carefully edited and curated. We then invite you back to the studio to view your images and see how your favourites look in various framing options. You can then select and order your chosen portraits and we get working on them immediately!

We know how difficult it is to wrangle every member of your family - especially those of school age! - so get in touch and we’ll find a time that works for everyone.

Come in for your session

We encourage you to arrive ‘camera ready’ - and we have space at the studio if you need to change or freshen up. We keep sessions with young children fun, lively and fast - making sure to get those shots while we have their enthusiasm and focus! No matter the age of the family member, we have plenty of tips and tricks to keep everyone relaxed and feeling their best in front of the camera!

Select your photos

After your session we invite you back to the studio to view the images from your shoot. This is when you can select your favourite pictures and decide on the perfect frame. To make it even easier, we have bespoke software to help you envision how your framed portraits will look in your home so you can be confident in your selection.

The future

We make sure to keep all of our portraits on file, so if you decide years later that you’d like to order additional prints, we have you covered! As members of the Galway community, our hope and philosophy is to be here taking photos of you and your family from the newborn shoot to the wedding day - and everything in between! We will always have something special for friends who return to the studio - so don’t hesitate to reach out.
